Amazing Production!!!

What an absolutely beautiful production! The singers, orchestra, costumes, set and theater were just breathtaking!! We sat in the 3 Rd row center stage!! I even saw tears in my husband’s eyes! We enjoyed our evenig!! Thank you! Bruce and Becky Hodson Joplin, Missouri USA

My 2 granddaughters loved it!! It was there first time seeing it and my 4th, but first time in London!

Just being in London with my two granddaughters and taking them to Wicked! Viator never disappoints!!

A Wicked Good Time

We had wonderful seat along the middle aisle in row ZE. Perfect for avoiding visual obstructions in order to enjoy the show. Great production values, sound and visuals all well done.

Rip off. Buy direct from Theatre

Just buy your tickets directly from Theatre people. You don't even see what seats you get until you've paid. Then they turn out to be rubbish and you can't refund. Not only that, you've paid almost double than what you can actually pay for them directly. They rip you off. The musical itself was great and funny.

Wicked

We enjoyed the show. Cues were not as bad as we thought especially for drinks. My only issue was a man who was very tall sitting in front of me and I had to keep ducking around him

The title of this activity is confusing and misleading for travelers

This activity does not specify the theater location until the purchase is completed, the play is in 2 theaters in different cities and the supplier does not have changes or refunds, I feel very upset since we lost more than $7,000 on 4 tickets that we bought thinking that the play It was in New York, it turned out that the London theater also offers the same play

Sound....

Lighting, stage management, musicans, automation : great. Area to improve: sound The sound depatment needs to re-evaluate their approach. It is unfortunate that the sound mixer has to follow a mixing approach dictated by a sound designer whose approach is to minimise feedback at all cost. The equalisation on vocals sounded too muffled.(difficult to understand words). Not sure whether mic placement and/or eq is the problem. Overall levels were too low (probably due to regulations)... Music in the pit sounded muffled and very quiet as if musicians were playing backstage. It seems that the EQ and individual dynamics have been set up to sound good for one or two big moments in the musical and left untouched for the rest. The PA system was too small for the venue and no center channel for the vocals. I understand the limitations and the need to produce a safe show but it was below my expectations.

WICKED WAS INSANELY BRILLIANT

Brilliant theater and fabulous cast. This was my 4th time seeing Wicked and my first in London. Head to toe green throughout the theater making for a superior OZ vibe. Don't think twice, get tickets!

First half didnt make much sense

I bought my girlfriend and I tickets for her Christmas present and she loved it so much being a musical fan. The music was amazing, the set design was great. My favourite part was when they first brought in the wizard. However I'm not sure if im a bit slow but I struggled to understand the storyline till about the second half of the show which made me not enjoy it as much. If i go again I can agree that my opinion would be different since I know what to expect. this review is based on the Melbourne Australia show. Its the same production as what is in London/New york etc

Great show

Saw this show after buying tickets in Leicester Square that afternoon. We very much enjoyed it, although we weren't sure what to expect. Theatre staff were friendly. Music and singing were fantastic. Great way to spend the evening.

Amazing

Amazing. I don’t normally like musicals but the show was just amazing. Really enjoyed it. Would defiantly recommend if visiting London.

Sub standard, better shows in my local theatre

Weak storyline, all the songs sounded the same. Set dark and bland. The performers were very talented and costumes were beautiful. Considering what we paid, it was a disappointment. Better shows in my local theatre at a fraction of the price. Not comparable to west end classics; Lion King, Phantom, Jersey Boys, My Fair Lady. Spend your money elsewhere.

Great family show!

After reading some of the recent reviews, I was somewhat apprehensive about going to see Wicked and was fully expecting to see something awful. My son wanted to see it rather than Matilda and I was bracing myself for something terrible. I was however very pleasantly surprised and enjoyed every minute. I went with my husband and son (aged 10) and we know the story of the Wizard of Oz very well which definitely helped as I can imagine it might be a bit confusing if you don’t. We sat in the dress circle and had no issues with the sound levels or voice clarity. The singing and acting was great as were the visual effects. An unexpectedly great show and a fantastic night out for all three of us.

Wicked !....( Oh No It's Not !)

Wicked?...Oh No It Isn't....Terrible, perhaps but not 'wicked'. It's neither a quality musical nor a camp, titillating panto: It falls bang smack in the middle of the two. I tried to figure out if it was miscast but that would imply it was the actors fault, which I really don't think it is. The plot, ( I'm being presumtious in assuming there was one), had more holes than a Tetley's tea bag. With the exception of the song 'Gravity' the majority of the songs are like poor Eurovision submissions from Latvia or Albania. Staging etc, costumes, lighting etc were all fantastic. Clearly a lot of money has been invested to make this project an air of quality and, I think for a young family not really wanting much more than flashing lights, a bit of dry ice and some cheezy lines, this ticks all the boxes but if your benchmark is work like Hamilton you're gonna want to hit the emergency exit as soon as the bar closes for the start of the performance. I hate to punch down because the effort actors, technicians, musicians put into their work is immeasurable but the creators and directors contribution is so outdated with this production it warrants a demolition order. To precis, it's utter garbage.

Save your money

Amazzzing, fantastic? Er no, this is just a silly pantomine . The cast were really poor, worthy of some second rate provincial theatre but not a major London theatre charging London prices for the tickets. They could not sing correctly, all the songs were sung in the pop culture method of screechy wails, with little or no ability to hit a high note. The sound quality is so poor and diction so bad I could no hear what was being said alot of the time. There were good creative costumns mainly for the supporting cast, rather than the main characters. and of course there was a predictable princess ballgown look for the good witch. The lightening effects were good but not consitently used. The audience consisted of hundreds of school children for what purpose I could not fathom out, it certainly could not have been for educational reasons. Although the venue booking conditions say children under 18 have to be with an adult , the teachers sat in a different part of the theatre away from their irritating charges so did not stop the constant movement in and out of the auditorium by children .

A classic!

An interesting story which is for children also has some taglines for adults, the best music of all show is a must for adults: “wonderful”! The special effects are impactful.

Don’t bother

Disappointed. Story line poor sound quality poor Cast did their best to restore a poor story line. We paid £200 to go in my Husband said he would pay another£200 to get out at the interval could easily of left at half time.

Wonderfully WIcked

Saw this in Edinburgh at the Playhouse. It is a must see. Talented terrific cast, wonderful sets and such energy and emotion. Family friendly too, maybe a little scary and loud for very young children but anyone over seven could love it. It was a magical experience and now I cannot get Defying Gravity ouf of my head. Great day out, you will not be disappointed. Get tickets now, well worth the investment.

Terribly cast and painful to listen to

The leads are terrible, really struggling to act and hitting note seems optional to them. Made it the worst show I’ve seen in 45 years of going to musicals. The whole production felt cheap and lazy, or maybe just tired. Probably time to retire this on. It felt like a screechy, bad pantomime. Four people in front of me talked and texted through the first half. Apparently the cast had complained, as had other audience members. So the staff told them off, but didn’t kick them out. If this is live theatre in London, it’s dead.

Need to chang the leads for us.

Not a great experience . We saw a good ensemble but the 3 leads that day ( Khadime,St Louis and Reid ) were in our opinion very poor. We would not return to see this show while they are the star leads. Having seen this show numerous times from Idina Menzel / Rachel Tucker/Louise Dearman/ Adam Garcia/Oliver Tompsett to name a few everyone was disappointed even my diehard fan husband. We were a party of 10 and the children coped with the lack lustre performances but agreed that Mamma Mia ( seen the previos night ) was much better though perhaps pipped at the post bt the Palladium's Wizard of Oz ( seen in the summer). We will now not look at seeing this again ( our go to see again show ) until the main leads change. A disappointing early Christmas present all round.

Crush on Elphaba

Wow! What an incredible experience! The talent involved in this production is indeed mind blowing! The costumes and set design were absolutely awesome and oh my goodness those voices! I have a very big crush on Sheridan Adams as Elphaba. The performance of Defying Gravity just before intermission gave me goosebumps, and had me grinning from ear to ear, begging for the second half of the show to start as soon as possible. Congratulations!

A little disappointing

My wife really enjoyed it and said it was one of the best things she has seen, which left my adult daughter and me baffled as we both thought it was alright but a bit boring. No memorable songs, silly dull plot, poor sound so that we could not hear the lyrics of a lot of the songs. Good set and costumes and got rapturous applause at the end from much of the audience. A bit like an average panto for me though.

Amazing from start to finish !! The theatre, the cast , the acting , the singing and the stage sets !! Just wow a must see for everyone .

Colorful, Entertaining and Captivating!

The costumes were amazing as was the talented cast! I especially loved the song “Defying Gravity” and would loved to have heard it again! ❤️

Get rid of the popcorn

2nd time of watching this show, very very good - But so disappointed with having to listen to people around me making so much noise eating popcorn. Really spoilt it for me and my daughter said the same. Felt like going to the cinema. 😞

It was absolutely beautiful I would definitely use this company again great musical. The performance was absolutely stunning.

What a dire show

Shrieked and screamed, rather than sung. Badly over miked. No hit songs. Lacklustre performance. Yes, some of the audience gave it a standing ovation. I don’t understand why. Must be on its way out. The theatre is a 2400 seater barn. About half empty on the day.

The music and costuming was wonderful! Three hours seemed like 30 Minutes! I would see it again. Very easy getting checked in!

Must see show

It was amazing . I’ve seen the show in America a couple of times and this cast didn’t disappoint . If you liked the wizard of oz this gives you the backstory

Wicked ok

This was my second time seeing Wicked. While the atmosphere, being in London, was great, I think I liked the show more the first time. The set, songs, and music were on par, but the casting was off. The cast, on the whole, simply did not fit the source material.

Wicked is a WOAH!

This musical is hard to beat - especially for families (I brought my 12 year old daughter). It has everything that makes London Musicals memorable - great music, ornate costumes and characters that will make you laugh and cry! Highly recommend!

Wow. Just WOW!! The costumes and singing are absolutely fantastic/ amazing/ wonderful/ mind blowing. Can't wait to go see this again!

Brilliant prequel to the Wizard of Oz

Fabulous! - The storyline being set before the Wizard of Oz is really captivating… and puts a spin on the ‘Wicked Witch’ The stage and production value is really strong and the current company are as equally as good as previous ones. Highly recommended and a must!

Saturday 15th July Alexia and Lucy were mind blowing

Brought my 17 year old daughter after seeing it twice myself. This time it was even more magical. Loved every minute and so did she. No issues with sound as per some of the other reviews. Everyone was excellent including Fiyero too. Would definitely recommend.

Stunning

Defying gravity is just incredible. The rest of the show is amazing but the build up to and execution of that moment is just pure gold. Amazing performance from all the cast.

Terrible Racket

We were looking forward to this as it had great reviews but I think I must have gone to a different show! It was absolutely terrible, we walked out at the interval. The sound quality was appalling, we couldn't hear a word that was sung in the chorus, it was just a cacophony of noise. The solos and duets were so shrill I thought my ears would bleed. The cast gave it their all but if I hadn't read the summary beforehand I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on. VERY disappointing, go to Moulin Rouge instead, in fact, go to anything instead!

Valuable assistance

We were immensely helped by one of the theaters attendants. He helped us with the stairs, helped us get to our seats, came and checked on us at intermission to see if we needed anything, came to us after the show to assist us in leaving, called a cab for us. He went way beyond the call of duty. The show itself was good. We enjoyed it and glad we attended.

Wicked experience, solo show

Excellent show for for two hours and 45 minutes. The actors and actresses did incredible job, singing, and dancing. The venue even gives you the option to scan QR code, and order food right to your seat and drinks.

Mediocre

First half of the show was boring and not a great storyline. Technical hitch delaying show by 30 minutes. 2nd half was a bit better. Spent £100 each for 2 tickets to be surrounded by hundreds of school children who would not have paid £100 per seat who were rowdy and inconsiderate of other people. Overall a mediocre show and disappointing compared to other shows I have seen.
