London Vintage Bus Tour Including River Thames Cruise with Optional Lunch

-Tour guide was basically pointing out buildings but not telling us the history -The bus was filthy and worn down. The seats were run down and straight out of the 1970's We were completely uninformed about how long the bus tour is, the boat tour (1/2 hour) and when we'd be eating the lunch (4:30 pm). We didn't know until it happened, but we had a 40 minutes between the bus and boat so we ate. We thought lunch was between bus and boat. -We couldn't hear the tour guide. Not only was the mic a little low but there were a group of 5-6 teenagers and they were yelling and talking over him. Finally, when we got to the boat, the tour guide said something. The group continued to be loud so a fellow passenger walked over to them and had to tell them again to shut up (that finally worked). The teenagers ruined the trip for everyone but the guide just kept pointing out buildings trying to talk over them. -the boat ride was an Uber boat with a horrible mic which kept making feed back noises. I think you're better off doing a separate boat tour which leaves from the same pier. I wouldn't recommend this tour.

Great way to see London

We got to see all the major points in the city, wish we did this the first day to help plan our week.

London vintage bus tour

Our tour guide was awesome & very accommodating. He was knowledgeable & entertaining. The bus couldn’t take us close to the pub so the tour guy walked us close to the proximity to the pub.

Fantastic day trip

What a great day, Eugene was our driver with our tour guide (Dave, I think) very funny and good knowledge of London. Highly recommend this trip. A lovely fish and chip lunch at the jugged hare.

Lacking organization and details

Unfortunately, it was a rainy day so views from the open-air, dbl decker bus was limited. That aside, the river cruise portion was not narrated (unless you opted for audio for a fee) so you missed knowing what you were seeing. The tour ended a 30-40 minutes early leaving us dropped off in the rain for an hour until the restaurant opened. The Jugged Hair had yummy fish and chips so the lunch portion was a good add. It seemed disorganized (tour/guide). We started with 20 guests but lost a few along the way so stay close and ask clarifying questions. Scenic but not worth the cost, IMO.

Waste of money.

Not very enlightening. Vintage bus was fun but the driver was unaware of some roads being closed. So the narrator was thrown off when new routes had to be found. Then the boat wasn’t available and we had to stand on the pier for over 30 minutes. The boat was loud and we couldn’t hear the narrative on the boat tour. Waste of money

Good if everything goes right, but no care for customers when they need help.

The tour itself was good and my son enjoyed the vintage double decker bus quite a bit! We took the options with the London Eye and when dropped off at the location, there was no indication the bus would be moving on. When we found this out and it would be taking tour stroller with them, we circled back to get it with another driver. However, rather than communicating to wait the few minutes, the driver drove off with our stroller. They placed in Victoria station room which closed at 6:30pm. So we had to cab there and back to miss our reservation for later event. When I explained the situation and asked for money back, I was denied and told I was "fortunate" they didn't dump it in coach yard further away! There are a lot of choices of tours and premium tours shows an indifference to helping their customers. So I recommend finding another company to choose

Would not recommend.

Most of the time, the speaker system did not work, so it essentially was a visual tour, not an audio tour. Plus our guide, who was very well intentioned, walked very fast and because of our age it was hard for us to keep up with the group.

A bus tour ahead of the rest.

Fantastic 4hrs! Steven was awesome, very knowledgeable, funny and a gentleman. I’d highly recommend.

Our Tour Guide & Driver Were AMAZING

We did the 13:00 tour on Saturday 02.12.2023. Our tour guide and bus driver were both amazing!!! Very professional, knowledgeable and adapted the tour to suit all passengers ensuring all questions were answered and needs met. Nothing was too much trouble for these two gentleman as they really did make the tour that extra bit special. At every opportunity we got to take photos and our tour guide ensured that we had group photos with our friends/family (nobody was left out) The trip was great however we honestly believe it would not have been as good if we had of had a different tour guide and bus driver. The bus drivers name was Kevin but we cannot remember the name of the tour guide (sorry) he was from Dublin though. These two are assets to your business so ensure you recognise them and retain them!

Fantastic tour!

This was our first trip to London and we had a great time on this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept us moving. It was fun to be on the bus and then on a boat. The views from the boat were amazing. We ended our outing with the traditional fish and chips which was a perfect ending. I highly recommend this tour!

Well worth it

First time to London & Richard made the experience amazing, his knowledge and humour and everything we saw was fantastic to say the least. Fish & chips at the end was well worth it also

Great tour with wonderful cruise on the river.

Loved the tour around London area and cruising the Thames River. Dave was a very knowledge and helpful guide and provided helpful tips for after the tour. Really appreciated Dave taking photos of us at the various locations. Trevor was a great driver and very friendly. River cruise was delayed which caused us to miss the changing of King’s horses, but not the fault of our guide. Dave filled time with a short walk and more history of the city. Overall great tour.

I have only had 1 vintage bus tour on 13/09/23, and paid for it on 04/08/23. However I appear to have paid again on 12/09/23. Please refund the second payment.

See all of London in a few hours!

This was a wonderful way to see London! Magnus, our tour guide was knowledgeable and charming! We were lucky to have a beautiful day as well. Would highly recommend!

See it all in one tour

Got to see a lot of London and the tour narrator was great. The tour narrator was wonderful and I would highly recommend this tour if you only have one day to spend in London.

Disappointing

Tour did not follow published itinerary. Skipped changing of the guards, etc. Viator is refusing my request for a refund.

This was so good. Adam our tour guide was fabulous with a few good/bad puns along the way lol! Saw so much of London both on the bus and the river cruise. The fish and chips and pint at the Jugged Hare was a great finish to a brilliant afternoon. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely worth it

Fantastic programme to have a quick look around this magnificent city. Really nice hosts on the bus and the boat who patiently explain things to you while going around. Worth the money..!

Vintage Bus a Bust

Unfortunately, our tour was very disappointing. Our party was split up because of travel delays and we missed the deadline for canceling 4 of our 6 tickets by 20 minutes. We went straight from the airport to the tour so had to cart our luggage all around. It was probably the hottest day ever in London—in the high 90’s—and we were not dressed accordingly. The heat from the street was coming up into the cab of the bus so it felt like the heater was on. (We were assured it was not). Being inside the bus limited our view and the tour guide was pointing out areas of interest that were going by so quickly we couldn’t get our bearings. Because of the steep circular stairway to the top deck, there was no way we could make that climb. The PA system in the bus was horrible so we had to wear ear plugs to filter out the offensive noise. The guide seemed frustrated—probably sweltering in his costume. The only redeeming factor was the boat ride on the Thames at the end of the tour. There was enough of a break before the boat tour for us to change our clothes into shorts, sleeveless tops, and sandals.

Informative bus ride through London

While we did enjoy our tour , it wasnt what the tour group advertised. The itinerary read that we would make stops along the route but the only stop we made was when we were getting on the river cruise. Nick was a great guide; very knowledgeable and looked after his group by making sure we all got back to where we were meant to be. I think for the cost, if you just want a bus ride around London, look into others that may offer afternoon tea or if you want to explore a bit more do the hop on hop off bus. The river cruise was 30 minutes and was on a lovely boat, however you can see just as much , if not more by just jumping on a regular river boat.

Tour was alright, Guide could have been more conscious of his customers.

Most of the tour was good, a little hard to hear Magnus while on the bus, a lot of feedback from the microphone What left a sour note to the tour, there was a handicapped woman on the tour, and Magnus would not wait for her to catch up to the group, she was a little slow but not by much. We actually had to run up to Magnus and ask him to wait for the woman before he crossed a street and let them know which way he was going to be headed. When the husband of the woman asked why he didn't wait, Magnus just said he had 30 others he had to think of. Never good to end a tour on a sour note that is what you remember

Great time

Very informative and fun , what a great way to get your bearings and decide what you want to explore further. Both the bus and river ride were great, made even better with the wonderful guide we had, thank you John!

Great tour!

Enjoyed the pace of the trip, the information shared and the places we visited. Smaller group was also nice.

Best of London highlights.

This was an excellent tour. There was a protest taking place which caused a bit of an issue but they, Magus the guide and Ugene the driver, did a great job of working around it. Magnus was one of the best guides we've come across, it didn't seem to matter what turn we took Magnus could give us the details of the important land marks and buildings around us. He was entertaining and clear to understand. If there one thing that could be improved, it was the details for finding the bus to get started. It was located at the Victoria coach station, not rail station, and the gate we found the bus was 0. We got this last peace of information from station attendant.

Historical and Factual Fun Tour

Our Tour Guide James was brilliant. He brought historical facts in a fun, engaging entertaining and respectful manner. I would 100 % book a trip if I had James as a tour guide. Viewing these sites during this close up view was truly the right choice for us.

Great Tour Guide

Got to see all the major sites. The tour guide was amazing! He knew where to position us to get the best view of the old guard from Buckingham Palace as they came back to their barracks after the changing of the guard.

Enjoyable and informative

Very informative and a knowledgeable guide! It was a great overview of all the sites in London. The boat cruise was also enjoyable with lots of information given out along the way.

Perfect length to see the major landmarks of central london. Got up early and done before noon. We had a huge day following the tour

The tour guide was very knowledegable. It was a weather friendly day so we were able to get to all stops with no rain.

Great tour, lousy ending point

Great tour and excellent guide. Only issue was the long wait for the short cruise down the thames. Tour DOES NOT end at starting point. Had to take the tube back which was a little confusing!

The bus tour was great,...

The bus tour was great, but the boat ride was a waste of time and money. Could not understand 1 word the guide said.

Tour Guide Was Fantastic Jul 19th 2023

Our tour guide was funny, attentive, knowledgeable and all around delightful. Unfortunately part of our tour (boat on the river) did not happen. But Allen (I believe was his name) made the best of it and the tour was great!

Fun tour!

The tour was fun!! The only problem was the mic keep going out during the tour. But the tour guide was good about it and would come and talk to us about the tour

Rushed Experience

I choose this tour as a way to hit the major sites and I knew that there would be a time limit for each stop. However, this tour was rushed from the start, I'm not sure if it was because we were delayed leaving the starting point at Victoria Coach Station but it was not a fun experience. Magnus, our tour guide acted more like a school teacher and was not friendly. Buckingham Palace was our first stop and after a brief history lesson we were rushed back to the bus. We barely had time to take any pictures. Back on the bus, we sped past many of the sites while Magnus called out their names. But we went by so fast that if you blinked you missed it. It would have been nice if the bus slowed or stopped for a bit so we could take some pictures at some of the more popular sites such as the Westminister Abbey. I selected the optional fish and chips lunch and at the end of the tour the bus dropped us off at the pub. However, they dropped us off 30 minutes early so we had to wait and then it began raining. We stood outside in the rain for about 10 minutes until the pub opened. Not the best tour I've been on, in hindsight I probably should have picked a different type of tour.

We had a great tour with Nick, our guide, and Eugene the bus driver. Nick was very well versed on London history, which we appreciated, and a lot of fun to be with. It was a great overview of the city. Thank you.

Cameron, the tour guide, made this vintage bus tour/river tour such a splendid experience. He was fun, enthusiastic, knowledgable and interactive. Would highly recommend Cameron for this afternoon tour. It was a sunny day in London and the other guests were fun too.

Good overview of London

It was a good over view of London. We sat on top, which was good to see all around, but we could not hear the guide on top (volume too low, wind and street noise). Guide was good when we were off the bus.

The tour guide gave very little - almost no - historical information and there was A LOT of just dead space/air waiting, esp at stop lights -- we left halfway through

Below par

It was not what was expected. Little disorganised. The bus tour was average the river cruise was average. We expected a group experience with our tour group. The fish and chip option we expected to be part of the tour not tacked on to the end.

Good experience, great tour guide.

Getting into the bus was a bit chaotic. With so many tours launching at the same time from same place, better communication on any specific tour is confusing and not easily learned. Saw the sights as described and the weather couldn't had been better. There was unscheduled emergency road work, so our trip stopped a little early. Was worth it overall. We had the fish and chips and they were delicious. Would recommend tour, especially the funny and entertaining tour guide we had. Hats off to Alan. He took time with everyone and their needs, along with showing us with where we needed to go since tour couldn't complete.

Gave it a 4 star because the company refunded my money within minutes of requesting it, sadly the bus for our tour had mechanical problems so our trip had to be canceled.

The Vintage Bus Tour with NO Vintage Bus.

The premise of this trip is good, but it was anything but good. First, where you meet the bus is a cattle call…lots of tours going out and lots of people crammed into a small area. It worked fine for us but many others seemed confused. The vintage bus was no show so we got a regular coach bus which made it harder to see everything (they offered a refund or rebook but we were leaving the next day). So we left at 8:45 am for our 7:30 am tour. A quick stop at Buckingham (no changing of the guard that day). Got to river cruise part and waited 20 min for boat (boat did not turn and go towards Tower Bridge). Off river - back to bus. We had added the fish/chips lunch. Guide dropped us about a quarter mile from pub at 11:00 am and pub didn’t open till noon. Guide was mediocre. A 3.5 hour tour was 2 hours 15 min. Unsatisfactory. Maybe our tour was a one off based on other reviews, but I would look for other options.

Exceeded my expectation

The bus guide was very knowledgeable of all the sights and then some! As well as the ship captain, guide and staff with equal regularity of knowledge and professionalism! The optional lunch, even though we were the only two there from our tour, fish and chips, was very tasty, hot meal, and very polite atmosphere! Would definitely do again; to to show friends and family a nice time!
